Life Groups
Life Groups at Summit Woods are small groups that meet together in homes throughout our community for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study. These groups provide a wonderful way of getting to know other folks in the church family. Children and youth are encouraged to participate.
Life Group FAQs
-
Our group has many young children in attendance, what
should we do?
Consider hiring one or two of our youth to come and assist. The money they earn will go towards an upcoming youth event such as summer camp. Contact the church office for a list of names and phone numbers.
-
What is the agenda for a Life Group Meeting?
It is flexible, but the three main objectives are fellowship, prayer, and a brief Bible study. The ideal timeframe is about 90 minutes.
-
Should we try to provide a meal?
That is up to the group. Many Life Groups do a potluck dinner, but others have found that just serving a simple dessert is sufficient.
-
What time should the Life Group begin?
The recommended timeframe is 5:00pm to 6:30pm, but some groups may start later depending on whether they serve a meal.
-
Should the Life Group always meet in the same
home?
Not necessarily, it is healthy for a group to meet in one another’s homes. Just make sure you clearly communicate who will host and the directions to get there!
-
I’m interested in joining a Life Group or
starting a new one, what should I do?
You can indicate on the Friendship Pad or call the church office and talk with Pastor Ryan.
-
What if our group would like to use other
material?
It is fine to use other material as long as you notify the church office so that we are aware of what is being used in each group.
